Overall Scope of the Position: To ensure that the food and drink service delivered to the guests and customers is to the standards set by the restaurant and bar, in terms of friendliness, efficiency and product knowledge. That, wherever possible, guest expectations are exceeded and restaurant and bar revenue maximised through up and cross selling. Key Duties & Responsibilities • All guests and customers are treated as individuals and made to feel special. • All guests are greeted in a friendly and efficient manner and seated promptly •All guest requests are dealt with promptly •All guests are provided with sufficient product knowledge of the menu, beverage and wines on which to make a decision – this should include suggestive selling • Prepare accurate guest bills provide a competent cashiering service • Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the restaurant and bar, including the floor, seating, tables, cutlery, glassware and china. • Where a buffet service is operation ensure the buffet area is clean and adequately stocked throughout the service period • Keep all cleaning rotas complete and up to date • Always remain in your work place, so that customers are always greeted by you • Always be professional and friendly and always smile. • Deal with complaints in a helpful and friendly manner, if you cannot deal with a complaint inform the Duty Manager immediately. • Plan your shift before your shift starts • Maximise restaurant and bar revenue through effective use of up-selling, seating opportunities • Seize every opportunity to sell or up/cross sell menu items and wines / drinks • Keep wastage of consumables to a minimum e.g. serviettes, butter, jam portions, etc. • Check standards of all staff appearance on all shifts Required experience: At least 2 years in a Supervisory role
